The Baroque era was a time in which operatic superstars and fabled instrumentalists flourished. In this concert the talented members of St Mary Schola will present the ever enchanting mandolin concerto by Vivaldi, music written for the famed sopranos of Ferrara, the highly ornamented splendors of Monteverdis madrigals and Vespers of 1610 and some deeply moving excerpts from Handel's first triumph in England, the opera Rinaldo.
Pre-concert talk at 3:30 PM.
